One Year of Blogging

write_post.jpg

I just realized that I have been blogging for over year now (one year and 24 days, actually). I still can’t believe I waited so long to get started.

It’s been such a rewarding experience for me that I now think everyone should have a personal or a professional blog. I really do.

If you don’t have a blog, go get one. Get a friend to help you if you can’t do everything yourself. For me it only took only three or four weekends, including designing the site’s graphics and layout, finding Pau to build the client-side code, and then integrating his HTML with WordPress.

There are even easier and faster ways to get up and running with a blog, too, especially if you don’t have fancy graphic pretentions as I did. So if you’ve ever even toyed with the idea, I say just do it!

  1. Congrats! Yep. It’s a real productivity sink, but I enjoy the interaction with other people in this space. I’ve been pretty happy with WP too, considering the cost, ease of use, versatility, function set, and Out of Box experience you get compared to other packages.

  2. What have you liked the most about blogging? I’m always cautious about blogging so I like to hear why people find it rewarding. Congrats on the year!

  3. I like having an outlet for my ideas. A blog is a great way to immediately get an idea out into the world. I tend to polish up my ideas more than many other (but not all) bloggers, but not as much as I would if I were making formal articles or something. I also found a way to post image-only posts, which is helpful for me as an artist/visual person.

Also: I like getting other people’s opinions on my ideas, and engaging in dialogue with new people. I like meeting new people because they read my blog. I like it when people link to me, that’s flattering.
